Me and coaching

Stress cost me my job as an engineer. A job I loved, in a company I loved. It reshaped a career in which I had been working so hard for 6 years (plus 7 of education). It made me sick and lose my sense of self.

It also put things in perspective, taught me what really matters and forced me to stand strong for myself and make tough choices.

I went through a very hard couple of years with very little understanding of what was happening and how to navigate the situation and almost non-existent support from my employer. I learned a lot in the recovery process and understood that there's a need to address a problem that is costing fulfilling lives.

It led me to look for resources to heal myself, and in doing so I knew that I didn't want what happened to me to happen to anyone else. I needed to use my experience and knowledge to help people the way I wish someone had helped me on time; people need to know that it can get better. People need to know how to get better.

And for the future, we all have to be properly equipped to deal with pressure and change without it taking control of our lives.

But we also have to be able to choose change and make it happen for ourselves. I was forced to look deep inside and admit that I wasn't happy, that I was living for everyone else but myself, that my choices so far hadn't been my own. And then decide that I deserve better and start choosing things that make sense to who I am, and not to whom people think I should be.

I wanted to help, I wanted to connect and I wanted to make a difference. I wanted to be what I didn't have when I needed it and so I became a coach and I'm building a practice that can offer people the space to be better and completely themselves; to live the life they want, to get uncomfortable and choose change.

Being certified as a Personal Trainer, I have the background knowledge to understand human physiology, anatomy, bio-mechanics and fundamentals of nutrition, and of course physical fitness in general. Additionally, as a certified SSR coach with knowledge about the science of sleep, stress and recovery and change psychology, I'm able to coach and guide in the three levels of health (sleep, stress & recovery, nutrition and fitness) with a well rounded approach where I see and understand people as a whole, with the complexity this entails.

Me and fitness

I have been playing sports for as long as I can remember. I have practiced speed skating, figure skating, volleyball, tennis, and for the last 20+ years, squash. I started going to the gym to support this last one and have since tried so many different styles of training, but never stopped. Movement is an integral and fundamental part of my life and helps to keep me balanced and centered.

I am an engineer and I am obsessed with information and data. I want to know how things work and how they are done properly and that was why I decided to get certified and now share all that knowledge with everyone who wants to listen :)

My focus, goals, approach and mindset have changed over the years. I've trained for aesthetics, performance, strength, fun. Every time it's been a process and many times it has required a lot of discipline. But the most important thing I've learned so far is to enjoy and trust the process because there are no shortcuts to make sustainable changes. You have to go THROUGH the process. Start to Finish.
